End of April we had an expedition to Saskhori limestone quarry. Our main purpose was an inventory of spring-flowering herbaceous plants including trees and shrubs.
This time we described 35 species in total. We created a plant list according to each habitat and took photos of the flowering plants.
We had a very successful expedition, as we saw many interesting plants, including several species that are narrow-local distribution and also included in the Red Book of Georgia.
We have also selected some spots for In-situ conservation plot that is to be discussed and agreed together with HeidelbergCement Management.
We think that our future expeditions at Saskhori limestone area will be more and more interesting.
