To increase the bat species richness and "attract" some small vespertilio, such as Myotis emarginatus, and perhaps some Plecotus, here we have started to place appropriate bat-boxes: practically artificial nest houses for bats. The first 5 are in operation, clearly visible but located at a safe height, along the visit route.
It is the goal of the Team and of friends of the La Collina dei Castagni di Castenedolo Association to build and position many more in the coming months.
