Some presences are very interesting, such as for Soricomorphs which appear with three species, difficult to see but fundamental for woods ecology: Suncus etruscus, Crocidura leucodon and Crocidura suaveolens.
Important is the certainty that in the past, just outside the Castenedolo’s Wood, there was the rare and threatened Common dormouse, Muscardinus avellanarius (thanks Diego for its photos).
Fundamental for our study was the discovery of a few dozen wads abandoned by Long-eared Owl (Asio otus) during recent nesting in the Site: their preys analyzes will give us an even more defined overall picture of present terrestrial Mammals and will soon be the subject of a scientific work.
